By Venom’s Sweet Sting, the second installment in Tiffany Trent’s Hallowmere series, was even better than the first, filled with more action, more mystery, and more of the dark Unhallowed.
After Corrine discovers the mystery behind the strange disappearances and the dark Fey destroy Falston Manor, Corrine flees to Scotland with Father Joe, Miss Brown, and the remaining girls in order to find Rory and fight the Fey on their own ground. However, disaster befalls them at every turn, first with the destruction of the ship they take to Scotland, then with mysterious attacks, disappearances, and of course, Corrine’s strange dreams and visions.
Stranger still is Euan, the strange young man sent to make sure the group gets to Scotland safely. He is protective of Corrine and does his best to win her trust, but after the heartache she sustained from Rory, Corrine is hesitant to embrace this new stranger. And with the dark Fey prince communicating with Corrine in her dreams, is there anyone at all she can trust?
With the introduction of a new character and deeper revelations of the old ones, By Venom’s Sweet Sting, is sure to please readers with its non-stop mystery and action, as well as its carefully crafted characters. Trent creates memorable characters who draw the readers’ sympathy and even tug at their heartstrings, despite their flaws. Even the dark Fey prince, who is after blood in order to rebuild his weakened kingdom, will seem not so bad from time to time. Indeed, Trent’s deeply flawed characters is the thread that binds the readers’ interests.
Filled with dark and unexpected twists and turns, as well as a vivid new setting, The Venom’s Sweet Sting, will leave readers anxious for the third installment in the Hallowmere series, Between Golden Jaws.
